The Greenwich chapter of SeniorNet offers a variety of
computer classes at the Greenwich Senior Center at 299
Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT.  Classes are taught by
a staff of over 40 senior volunteers, many retired from
IBM, Verizon, and many other organizations.

Classes are limited to 11 students and are taught by an
instructor and up to 3 coaches, who provide individual
hands-on instruction.   SeniorNet is a national not-for-profit
organization with 240 similar centers.  The Greenwich
center has been in operation for eight years and has
trained over 2,000 students, many of whom have taken
several courses.

Classes are held twice a week from 9 AM to 11:30 AM or
1 PM to 3:30 PM, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and
Thursday.  There is a lab session for practice and questions
on Friday morning.  The courses offered are:

Introduction to Computers –- An (8) Eight Session
beginners course, covering the nature of  computers and
operating systems, Microsoft Word, e-mail and Internet,
and Microsoft Works spreadsheets and databases

Advanced Courses, available to graduates of Introduction
to Computers:
E-Mail and Internet, MS Word, Windows XP, Excel,
PowerPoint, Mail Merge, Quicken, Genealogy,
Basic Digital Photography, Digital Photography 2, Creative
Digital Photography with Photoshop Elements

We understand that everyone has a preferred method of
learning. With that in mind we take into account the
different background and experience levels of our
students. That is why we offer Coaches to assist the
Instructors, usually one for every 3 students.
